Red Top, Conn., May 31.--The Harvard crew contingent reached Red Top today, ready to start the final stretch of drill in preparation for the regatta with Yale on the Thames three weeks hence.

Members of the crews will take examinations at Red Top, and throughout the stay, two practices will be held per day by the University, Freshman, and Jayvee boats. Coach White side has announced, however, that for this week the workouts will be light, with more difficult drills being started next Monday. It is expected that the first time trial will be given to the University and Jayvee boats a week from next Saturday, or less than a week before the race.

Saturday afternoon at Philadelphia, the third University crew, which will soon sail for England, scored a decisive victory for the W. S. R. Brown Challenge Cup, defeating Princeton and Pennsylvania in that order. The University 150-pound eight, after placing second to Navy and defeating Cornell and Columbia qualified for the Joseph Wright Challenge Cup in the American Henley, but was last in the final event.

The Harvard lightweights, who were very closely second to Navy in the trials, were hampered by the rought weather in the afternoon, when the finals were held.
