FRESHMEN UNIMPRESSIVE AS ANDOVER WINS 6 TO 1

Nathaniel Ware '34 Leads Hitting as Schoolboys Play Superior Ball to Outclass 1934 Nine

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Errors, wild pitches, and loose fielding by the Freshman nine enabled a smartly working Andover team to trim the Crimson players on the school diamond, by a 6 to 1 margin yesterday. The schoolboys showed up consistently well throughout the contest, losing no opportunities to score after errors and bases on balls placed men on base.

Strong, the 1934 pitcher, had a bad day in the box, allowing the Blue batters to sock out three two-base hits, as well as four singles, while four passes were issued, and but four men fanned. In the field the Freshmen made four errors, while throughout the game the team fielded slowly and erratically, while the Andover nine played consistently good baseball.

Nathaniel Ware '34, Harvard shortstop offset his two fielding errors by three hits out of five times at bat, his single in the ninth frame driving in the sole Crimson tally.
