In a match marked by several interesting games the Harvard Freshman tennis team defeated the Roxbury School team by seven matches to two Saturday on the Divinity Field courts. S. E. Davenport '34 beat Egbert Miles in the feature match by means of his steadiness and his devastating placements, 6-3, 7-5.
Singles Davenport defeated Miles (R), 6-3, 7-5; Friedman (R), defeated G. H. Hartford '34, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3; W. K. Porter '34 defeated Partridge (R), 6-4, 6-4; Lawrence Freeburn '34 defeated Clark (R), 6-1, 6-4; R. E. Metz '34 defeated Sherwood (R), 6-0, 6-1; W. S. Emmet '34 defeated Landon (R), 6-0, 6-2.
Doubles Miles and Friedman (R) defeated Davenport and Hartford (H), 2-6, 6-2, 6-4; Porter and Freeburn (H) defeated Partridge and Sherwood (R), 6-0, 2-6, 6-2; Metz and Emmet (H) defeated Clark and Landon (R), 6-1, 6-0.
