Committee Investigates Possibility of Organized Season--Applications Sent to Harvard, Tech Refused

A committee consisting of three members of the Harvard Club of Boston Have been investigating the possibilities of arranging an organized crew schedule for the club oarsmen this spring. A. B. Cassedy '24, C. C. Lund '16, and E. W. Soucy '16, who make up the committee, are now in search of a headquarters for the prospective graduate crew.

W. J. Bingham '16, Director of Athletics at Harvard, has already been approached by the committee on the subject of Newell Boathouse as a possible rendez-vous for the crew. In view of the present congested condition at Newell, however, the application had to be refused.

A similar request was made for use of the Technology boathouse, in the basin, but although Coach Bill Haines has not as yet been able to determine whether the presence of an additional crew during the hectic hours of the late afternoon would interfere with his own late practices, it is expected that the Club committee will have to look elsewhere.

The present move of the Harvard Club is motivated by a belief that trained crews of older men, somewhat neglected of late years, are nevertheless more than able to hold their own against college eights.
