The Harvard Menorah debating team will make its first western trip this year, in order to debate against the Menorah Society of Northwestern University. The debate will be held on April 19, at Chicago.
Harvard's team will argue the negative side of the question "Resolved: That the present spiritual status of the American Jewry is deplorable." Try outs for the team will be held at 3 o'clock on Monday, and all members of the society are eligible to compete. Each man should prepare a five minute speech on the above topic.
In the past few years the society has debated chiefly with colleges in the East, mainly with those in New York. This is the first western debate that the society has ever made.
