PERCIVAL CLEMENT WOOD AND BALDWIN PRIZES ANNOUNCED

First Essays Due April 1 From Junior and Senior Entrants

On Wednesday, April 1 all essays for the $500 Percival Wood prize must be handed in. This competition is open to students in the Junior and Senior classes of 18 New England universities, including Harvard. It was established by the will of the late Governor Percival Wood Clement, of Vermont, and is given for the best thesis in support of the principles of the Constitution of the United States and the first ten amendments. The judges will be the presidents of Amherst College, Bates and Brown University.

Friday, May 16, is the final date set for handing in essays for the William H. Baldwin prize of $100, which is given to the author of the best essay on a subject connected with municipal government. This competition is open to all undergraduate students taking a regular course connected with municipal research. The essays are to contain between 5,000 and 10,000 words.
