Playing a neck-and-neck game with its opponent, the Harvard university polo team was nosed out by Yale 5 to 51-2 in the final game of the season in the Commonwealth Armory Saturday night. Contrary to all expectations, the Freshman polo team was defeated by the Yale first-year malletmen 13 to 9 1-2 in a fast game on Saturday afternoon.
The University team was dogged by persistent ill luck during the entire game, while Yale seemed to have advantage of all the fortunate breaks. The teams were even in hitting, teamplay, riding-off and hooking. A desperate drive by the Crimson in the last chukker resulted in only one goal. Yale's slight superiority in the last two chukkers really won the victory. The Summary: Score Yale S. Harvard 5-3-2 Goals 33 Nicholas 4, Baldwin 4, Mills 2, Iglehart 2, F. Nicholas, Gerry. Time four 7 1-2 minute chukkers. Referee Westphalinger Score Yale 15. Harvard 9-1-2 Goals Sherman S. Dillingham 4, Shaw 5, Boy 8, McGuckin 2 Iglehart 2 Time-four 7 1-2 minute periods Referee Want.
