The Perfect Tribute

To the Editor of the CRIMSON:

I am glad to approve your protest against a chapel memorial to the Harvard men who died in the World War, and particularly your conclusion--"Any memorial, to be a valid tribute, must embody the united sentiment of those in whose name it is given."

These men and boys believed that they fought and died in "the war to end war", and they would wish their memorial to serve this same purpose. Let us hope that the Harvard President and Fellows, and those who have subscribed to the memorial, will agree upon a new or enlarged department of international relations or world peace, housed in a new and beautiful building, and endowed with that part of the memorial fund not needed for this building.
