In a statement made recently by the University, the status of this year's Freshman Class of the Engineering School was made clear with regard to the House plan. It has definitely been decided to allow the Freshman Class to apply for rooms in the Houses for next year, and application blanks will soon be sent to them.
This announcement continues the policy of the University followed last year with regard to the position of Engineering students in the Houses. The University does not, however, make any definite statement with regard to whether or not future Freshman classes will be allowed to apply for the Houses, and does not mean this year's action to be considered as a precedent.
Announcement was made last year that the men who were then Freshmen and Sophomore in the Engineering School would be allowed to apply for rooms in Lowell and Dunster. Of those that applied among the Sophomores, four were accepted by Lowell, and two by Dunster.
