Most Promising Man Injures Knee in Scrimmage

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Rugby opened yesterday for the Freshmen when about 15 men turned out at the cage for their first practice. At first instruction was given in the lateral pass which is the basis of rugby, and later on a couple of scrums took place. At the end a game was held between the Freshmen and some upperclassmen who came out. M. E. Bothner of Cape Town, South Africa, who was probably the best Freshman player in view of his previous experience, dislocated his knee cap.

Rugby, besides being an international sport, is one of the fastest and most spectacular of contests. The ball, slightly larger than an American football and oval in shape, is in constant action.
