Installation of apparatus to record poetry readings was urged by I. A. Richards, visiting professor of English, at a recent meeting in Widener Library. Mr. Richards expressed a hope that this would be done especially in the case of well-known authors reading their own works. The visiting professor also suggested that a room where one could read aloud would be of great benefit, especially as regards the enjoyment of modern poetry. Active plays are at present under way in regard to a poetry room, for the construction of which there is ample reason. The Morris Gray donation provides for about 100 books a month, too large a number to exhibit on the new book shelves.
