Boston Y. M. C. A. will furnish opposition for the University fencing team in a meet to be held tonight at 8 o'clock, while the Freshman swordsmen will encounter Roxbury School this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Both contests will take place in the New Indoor Athletic Building.
The bouts between Harvard and the Y. M. C. A. will include only foils and epee, leaving out the sabre bouts which have been a part of all previous meets. The University fencers are fresh from their trip to Annapolis and Columbia over the holiday, where they won from Columbia 11 to 6 and lost to the Navy 10 to 7. Their only previous meet, with New York University, they won 9 to 8.
The Y. M. C. A. will use the following three men: Captain W. E. Lutz, William Fackelton, and Robert Tavachnick. In foils Harvard will be represented by the following men: H. B. Wesselman '32, H. C. Cassidy '31, J. D. Allen '31. The University epee men will be K. R. Ludlam '33 and F. C. Fiechter '32.
The Freshman squad will meet the Roxbury team in all three weapons. The meet promises to be a close one as Roxbury is rated as about the same strength as Choate, which the Freshmen defeated 9 to 8.
