FRESHMAN FENCERS DEFEAT ANDOVER IN FOILS BOUTS

Hurd and Kilcullen are Outstanding Scorers in 1934 Victory

The Freshman fencing team defeated the Andover swordsmen by a score of 5 to 4 at the Indoor Athletic Building yesterday afternoon. The match consisted entirely of foils bouts, as Andover had no entries in the epee or sabre. J. G. Hurd '34, and W. M. Kilcullen '34 were outstanding, scoring all the points made by the Freshmen. Tompkins winning two bouts, starred for Andover.

Foils: Mullen (A) defeated J. L. Harris, 5-1. Tompkins (A) defeated J. H. Beard, 5-4 and Harris, 5-2. Hurd defeated Macomber (A), 5-1 Muller (A), 5-4, and Tompkins (A), 5-2. Kilcullen defeated Macomber (A), 5-2 and Muller (A), 5-4. Macomber (A) defeated Harris, 5-3.
