The Freshman swimming team went down to its first defeat of the season when it was beaten by the Andover team by the small margin of 34 to 32. Not only the final score of the meet was close, but in every race the contestants were nearly evenly matched; the 50-yard free style event being especially close, all contestants finishing within one yard of each other. In the 200-yard relay the Andover team broke their pool record of 1.44 by three-fifths of a second.
Edward Pickering Parker '34, of Danvers, who has figured well all year in the swimming meets, was elected captain of the Freshman swimmers. Parker won the 100-yard free style, and swam on the relay team at the Andover meet.
