RIOTING AGAIN

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The arrest of several undergraduates involved in subway rioting Saturday night was another of the regular occurrences which have characterized the past three hockey seasons. As a result of similar happenings, the Elevated has threatened to discontinue service after games, while the student council recently passed a resolution generally condemning the disturbances.

Yet, although public opinion, both undergraduate and otherwise, is almost unanimous against the outbursts, there continues to be a small minority of students who choose to display themselves publicly. The only apparent reason for their behavior is the "smartness" of tampering with the electric light system, tearing down advertisements, and breaking car windows. The hockey games seem only to serve as an excuse for rioting.

A few people have, by their actions, irritated a great many. Powerful public opinion should be able to stop those students, who are not only belittling themselves, but also damaging the property of others.
