Harvard Students To Vote on Divestment From Israel in Inaugural HUA Election Survey
Showing their best form of this season in a home game, the Harvard basketmen won from a disorganized Northeastern team last night in the New Indoor Athletic Building by the unrepresentative score of 36 to 26. Yesterday afternoon at Andover the Freshman team lost to the preparatory school five by a total of 23 to its opponents' 25.
The Crimson players were jumped at the start by an eager Husky team, who rolled up a two-point lead before the University got into its stride. Throughout the first half the game was a tight battle between the two teams, but the period ended with a score of 15 to 14 in favor of the home team.
From the first minute of the second period there was no question as to which was the better team. In offensive and defensive work Harvard took the initiative, and by brilliant stops, and well-coordinated passing attacks, succeeded in building up a ten-point lead which it held throughout the rest of the game.
Captain T.E. Farrell '31 was as usual the high scorer, tallying ten points out of the final count of 36. The accurate passing of his teammates, which time after time sent him the ball out of a melee in the opposite end of the court, was a telling factor in the game.
With the score reading 12 to 15 in favor of Andover yesterday afternoon, the 1934 players were able to retrieve only one point of the lead during the subsequent period.
