Improved economic conditions within a year are predicted by O. M. W. Sprague '94, Edmund Cogswell Converse Professor of Banking and Finance at the Harvard Business School. Professor Sprague's statement, issued recently at London, reads as follows: "In the course of the next 12 months I think we may anticipate greater progress in sweeping away some of the difficulties from which the entire world has been suffering."

Professor Sprague has been retained for the second year as economic adviser to the Bank of England.
