J.C. Grady '33, by winning the 70-yard High Hurdles and placing second in the High Jump, was the only man to take two places on the first day of the annual Fall Handicap Track Meet at Soldiers Field yesterday. Grady was defeated in the High Jump by W.A. Cone 1GB. The winners of the other events run off yesterday were Harry Bergson '32 in the 70-yard Dash, J.S. Marsh '32 in the Javelin, and L.W. McGuiro '34 in the 440-yard Run.
The events remaining to be run off this afternoon are as follows: Pole Vault, 3 o'clock; Broad Jump, 3 o'clock; 150-yard Dash (trials and semi-finals) 3.30 o'clock; 140-yard Low Hurdles, 3.45 o'clock; 880-yard Run, 4 o'clock; 150-yard Dash (finals), 4.05 o'clock.
Handicap Cross Country Today
The annual Fall Handicap Cross-Country Meet, open to all members of the University, will also be held this afternoon. Among the entrants are G.H. Bullwinkle, 1G. former intercollegiate mile champion and track and cross-country start at C.C. N. Y. J.M. Estabrook '34 will be the only member of the University team to enter the meet.

Javelin--won by J.S. Marsh '32 (scratch); second, R.F. Estes '34, (three feet); third, R.W. Keleher '34 (13 feet). Distance--177 ft. 5 in.
440-yard Run--won by L.W. McGuire '34 (12 yards); second, J.H. Pearson '32 (scratch); third, J.H. Rosen (12 yards). Time--51 4-5 sec.
