Believing that the Holy Cross game next Saturday will be one of the toughest battles of the year, Coach Casey is pointing towards it with all the power he can muster. "We will start the best team Harvard can put on the field Saturday," was the statement he made yesterday when asked if he would start the Seconds against Holy Cross. The Harvard Coach intimated further that the Crusaders clean hard type of football with its bruising interference will take even more out of Harvard than did the rugged Dartmouth style of play.
As a result of Saturday's strenuous contest, the entire A team was excused from practice yesterday while the reserves battled the Jayvees in 40 minutes of hard offensive scrimmage. The usual work on fundamentals, preceded the heavy contact work. Whitney at quarterback and Pescosolido at left half did stellar work for the reserves. The entire squad is scheduled to take part in a heavy scrimmage this afternoon.
Both Crickard and Mays will be back in togs tomorrow, although the former will probably undergo only a slight workout. He will be in shape for the Holy Cross game. White, who is suffering from a painful muscle bruise, will be given a rest all week with little or no possibility of playing against the Crusaders.
Yesterday's lineup follows:
Cassedy, l.e.; Faxon, Bancroft, l.t.; Brookes, Healey, l.g.; Crane, Casey; Cunningham, c.; Kuehn, Rogers, r.g., Finlayson, Kales, r.t.; Werner, Francisco, r.e.; Whitney, Wells, q.b.; Pescosolidio, Bennett, l.h.b.; Leonard, Nevin, r.h.b.; Waters, f.b.
