In a three-quarter mile sprint over the upstream course, the heavy Winthrop House crew outrowed the Eliot eight by one and a half lengths yesterday afternoon. The Puritans got away to a fast start and maintained their lead for the length of the course with a high stroke. The Eliot men, sluggishly starting, were able to console themselves by defeating crew X, made up of various House men, by three-quarters of a length.
