An election, an appointment and the creation of a new position were announced Saturday at University Hall. All of the changes are promotions with-in the University Faculty.
Frederick Carpenter Irving '06, Assistant Professor of Obstetrics since 1925, will become Professor of Obstetries beginning September 1, 1931. He received his M.D. degree from Harvard in 1910, and became Fellow in Obstetrics in 1914. Assistant in 1916. Instructor in 1922, and Assistant Professor of Obstetries in 1925.
Rupert Emerson '22, Instructor in Government, and Tutor in the Division of History, Government and Economies, will become Assistant Professor of Government in September, 1931. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of London in 1927, and became instructor and Tutor at Harvard in the fall of that year.
Clinton Poston Biddle. Professor of Investment Banking and Director of the Division of Research at the Graduate School of Business Administration, will become Associate Dean of the School. He has been an Assistant Dean since 1921. The position of Associate Dean has just been created, and includes the duties of supervising the work of research at the School.
