DEBATERS TO ENCOUNTER PORTO RICAN UNIVERSITY

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

By the special request of Theodore Roosevelt '08, Governor of Porto Rico, the University debating team will meet a team from the Universidad du Puerto Rico on the subject. "Resolved: That this house condemns the growing domination of the United States in the affairs of this hemisphere", on Friday, February 20.

The debate, which will take place at Cambridge, follows the team's usual policy of reserving one match on its annual schedule for a foreign team. The precedent which has grown up in recent years has been to use this occasion for strengthening the bonds between Harvard as an American University, and the universities of American dependencies.

Officers of the Freshman debating team which have recently been elected from the group of 52 who have joined the squad were announced last night Secretary. Malcolm Hoffman '34; Treasurer, H. M. Katzin '34; Publicity Manager, R. F. Ritger '34; Executive Committeemen, Seymour Peyser '34, and Gerald Williams '34.
