Today the winter schedule for intramural sports will get under way. At 2.30 o'clock in the New Indoor Athletic Building the first match on the inter-class schedule will be played off in basketball, between the Junior and Senior quintets. At the same time the second-year hoopsters will play a game with the second Freshman team.
Next Thursday the second game of the series will be played, the Sophomores combatting the Senior five, while some outside team, not yet picked, will meet the Junior aggregation. The class practice is held under the supervision of coach J. J. Hill, of the University of Kansas, who claims that the vast superiority in numbers shown by the 1933 candidates will give them an advantage in the early games. Thirty-three men in all have reported for practice during the past week.
Yesterday afternoon the fall series of inter-fraternity, indoor baseball came to an end with the defeat of Kappa Nu septet by the Kappa Sigma team, the score being 5 to 1 for a nine-inning game.
