Hemenway Gymnasium, which has been used by the University since 1878 as a recreational building will be primarily intended for those Graduate Schools located north of the Yard and Massachusetts Avenue, J. B. Wallen, Director of the Building, announced, although the gymnasium will continue to be open to all members of the University as hitherto. This will make a very convenient division of the aggregate facilities of Hemenway and the New Indoor Athletic Building.
Continue Same as Usual
Classes same as given heretofore will be continued. "Boxing, wrestling, fencing, and gymnasium and corrective work will be begun early in October. The courts for basketball and handball are open for use at the present time. The voluntary gymnasium class, which has been conducted for a number of years, known as the Five o'clock class, will be resumed on Monday, at the usual hour.
All the indoor intercollegiate contests will be transferred this year, however, to the new building where there will be accommodations for larger numbers of spectators. The old building will probably remain the scene of the usual winter intramural tournaments in handball, boxing, basketball, wrestling, and the other winter sports.
