Two positions, that of assistant scientific aide and that of junior scientific aide will be filled in the civil service as a result of examinations to be held soon, applications for which must be in by June 10 of the current year.
With a salary of $1620 and $1440 a year both of these positions offer a lucrative salary to all those college men who contemplate securing a position during the coming year.
Optional subjects for the position of assistant scientific aide are advanced general physics, ceramics, chemical engineering, chemistry, civil and mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, paper technology, physical metallurgy, physics, chemistry and textile technology.
Full information may be obtained from the United States Civil Service Commission, Washington, D.C., or the Secretary of the United States Civil Service Board of Examiners at the post office or customhouse in Boston.
