Harvard's baseball team will travel to Providence tomorrow to face the Brown nine in an attempt to avenge its 3 to 1 defeat at the hands of the Bruins last week. The annual Memorial Day tilt with the Providence outfit will be the first of two successive games to be played away from home. On Saturday the Crimson will play Holy Cross in the first of its two game series with the Crusaders, the second of which will be played on the following Saturday on Soldiers Field.
Coach Mitchell has announced that Page will be on the mound tomorrow and that Devens will get the assignment against Holy Cross. Mays, who has been out with a sprained ankle since the first Penn game on May 10, will probably be back on the field today but there is no chance of his getting back into the game for at least another ten days.
Sondheim Bruin Twirler
The Bruins will probably send their pitchng ace, Sondheim, against the Harvard batters. In the last clash between the two teams Sondheim held Harvard to five scattered hits and his twirling was supported by perfect field work on the part of his team-mates.
If the Harvard batters can recover their batting eye, they may have more success against the Bruins right-handed hurler tomorrow than they had in the previous game. In that contest, the Brown moundsman got into trouble several times but the failure of the Harvard hitters to connect lost them numerous good opportunities to score.
Harvard's record now stands at 500. Out of 16 games played the team has won eight and lost eight. Only seven scheduled games remain before the first game of the climatic series with Yale beginning on June 17.
