MASTERS SHADES DEVENS IN MOUND DUEL AT PENN, 3-0

Crimson Plays Orange in Return Game on Foreign Diamond--MacHale Will Pitch for Harvard

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Philadelphia, Penn., May 23--Al Masters, Penn football star on the mound for the Red and Blue today, was too good for the Harvard batters and as a result the home team came off with a 3 to 0 victory, its second over the Crimson this season.

The game was a pitchers duel between Masters and Devens, of Harvard, the former allowing only five hits and the latter six. Penn, however, bunched its few hits successfully and made use of the opportunities that were presented to it to score once in the third and twice in the eighth. Walker's home run was the big blow in the later inning that completely salted the game away for the home team. Lupien and Nugent led the Harvard attack with two hits each.

The visiting Harvard team left immediately after the game for Syracuse, New York, where it opposes the Syracuse team tomorrow. Coach Mitchell announced that MacHale will be the Crimson pitcher in the game.
