RUSSELL WINNER, PROCTOR SECOND IN JUNIOR SINGLES

The Junior singles, the only event of the annual invitation regatta which was scheduled yesterday afternoon was won by L. B. Russell, an outside entrant, and a Penn graduate. He defeated H. H. Proctor 1L by a quarter of a length.

The race was rowed over a mile course; the winner's time was 6 minutes, 53 1-4 seconds. The regatta, which is open to all entrants, undergraduate, graduate and outside, began with wherry races Monday. Yesterday afternoon's race was for any oarsman who had not previously won a novice singles event.
