Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
They played a college ball game down at Soldiers Field yesterday but the two teams involved did everything in their power to make the fifty odd spectators think otherwise. The Harvard and Bates nines played through nine innings of frigid baseball and Harvard won the decision 14 to 9, just because Bates was the better philanthropist.
There were 26 bases on balls in the game and the three Bates pitchers were guilty of 12 of them while Ticknor, on the mound for the Crimson, issued 14 free tickets. The visitors, however, committed six errors afield that helped the Harvard cause. In the latter innings Harvard also found its batting eye and pounded out four successive hits in the fourth frame and five in the fifth that swelled the total score to near its final proportions.
Harvard had to come from behind on two occasions to win the game. In the first Bates scored six runs largely because of five passes by Ticknor and then, after Harvard had gone ahead in the fourth, Bates came back with two counters in the first of the fifth. The Crimson finally sewed it up in its half of the inning with four runs and added five for good measure in the following frame.
Harvard will play Villanova today on Soldiers Field at four o'clock. Coach Mitchell will keep the same lineup that he used today and will, in all probability, send MacHale to the mound. *Ticknor out, hit by batted ball in sixth Three base hit--McGrath.
