PIERIAN SODALITY IS TO GIVE FREE CONCERT

To Perform at Boston Public Library Next Monday--Plays Before Harvard Musical Association Tonight

At 8 o'clock Monday night in the Boston Public Library the Harvard University Orchestra, Pierian Sodality of 1808, will appear in a free concert open to the public. The orchestra will be conducted by G. W. Woodworth '24, and assisted by Miss Dorothy Comstock and M. D. Holmes 2G, assistant conductor of the orchestra. These artists will play the Bach concerto for two violins.

The concert, is one of the regular numbers on the Library lecture and concert series which extends through the season. The program includes music ranging from the eighteenth century to the present.

At 8.30 o'clock tonight the orchestra will play at the Harvard Musical Association, 57-A Chestnut Street., Boston, in a concert open to members of the Association, which was founded by members of the Pierian Sodality.

The orchestra has two engagements remaining on its schedule. It will appear in Jordan Hall on May 9, and on May 17 will take part in a joint concert and dance with the Wellesley choir at Wellesley.

The program for the library concert, as announced by Manager R. U. Jameson '32, will be as follows.

Symphony No. 2 in D major (London) Haydn

1. Adagio Allegro 2. Andante

3. Menuetto Trio 4. Allegro spiritoso Concerto in D minor for two violins and string orchestra Bach

1. Vivace 2. Largo ma non tanto 3. Allegro

Soloists Miss Comstock and Mr. Holmes Saudades do Brazil Milhand Stavonic Dances, Opus 46, Book 1 Nos 2 and 3 Dyorak
