Strings Attached: How Harvard’s Wealthiest Alumni Are Reshaping University Giving
At 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, the Pierian Sodality of 1808, conducted by G. W. Woodworth '24,. will play at the Harvard, Club in Boston. The forty players will be assisted by Roland E. Partridge, tenor, accompanied by Lewis M. Stark.
The program, including two compositions by Haydn and the Slavonic dances of Dvorak, will be as follows:
1. Haydn--Symphony no. 2 in D major--First movement, Adagio--Allegro.
2. Handel--Arioso--"Ombra mai fu dt vegetabile" from "Serse". Mr. Partridge accompanied by string orchestra.
3. Milhaud--"Saudades do Brasil" (suite of dances) Overture--Sorocaba--Corcovado--Laranjeiras--Tijuca.
4. Dvorak--Slavonic Dances, Opus 46, book 1, no. 2 and 3.
5. Schubert--Ganymed. Brahms--Botschaft. R. Vaughan Williams--The Sky above the Roof. Giordano--Un di All'Assuro Spasio (Chenier), Mr. Partridge.
6. Haydn--Symphony no. 2 in D. Last movement--Allegro--Spiritoso.
