Harvard's baseball squad, with all but the pitching and catching departments pruned down to at least workable size, went through its regular indoor drill yesterday in the Briggs cage preliminary to being reduced again before the beginning of next week.

Under the eagle-eye of Coach Fred Mitchell approximately 50 diamond athletes went through their paces. The squad officially-consists of 55 men but some are still engaged in winter sports.

Yesterday's two hour session was taken up for the most part by a batting drill with each one of the moundsmen taking his turn in the box against the hitters. With a half hour left the inside nets were drawn up, the pitchers were sent in and three combinations ran through an infield drill. The first of these had J. E. Sheldon '32 at first, J. J. Carver '30 at second, Captain F. E. Nugent '30 at short, and H. L. Huxtable '30 at third. In the second group G. A. Donaldson '31 was at first, E. A. Mays '32 and E. H. McGrath '31 on each side of second, and P. A. Ketchum '31 at third. The last quartet was composed of D. F. Davis '30, E. L. Des Roches '31, T. J. O'Neill '30, and R. S. Ogden '31, R. E. Laughlin '31, Reginald Fincke '32 and J. H. Gildea '31 were the receivers for the three infields, respectively.
