The preliminaries of the oratorical contest for the Medal France-Amerique will take place in Sever 36 at 8 o'clock on the evening of April 30, it was announced last night by Professor L. J. A. Mercier.
All candidates for the prize should prepare five-minute addresses in French on some subject pertaining to France. Six candidates will be chosen to deliver ten-minute speeches at the finals, which will take place in the latter part of May.
Men wishing to compete for the medal should send in their names at once to Professor Mercier in Holyoke 16.
