Birge Selected Vice-President and Parker Secretary-Treasurer--Lane Names New Committee Leaders

As a result of voting yesterday by 394 members of the Phillips Brooks House Association for officers of the Association to serve from the present time until March, 1931, Edward Sutherland Amazeen, of Melrose Highlands, was chosen president. Julius Birge, of New York City, was designated vice president, and Carleton Hubbell Parker, of Cambridge, was selected to fill the recently combined offices of secretary and treasurer.

Amazeen, who prepared at Melrose High School, will continue to serve as chairman of the Social Service Committee, a position which he has held during the past year. On February 28 Amazeen attended the conference of college Christian organizations in Poland Springs, Maine, Birge, who is a graduate of Groton School, has headed the Library Committee since March, 1929. Parker, who attended preparatory school in Switzerland, was the Phillips Brooks House representative at the Students International Union Summer School at Geneva last summer.

The members of the association who will have charge of the various committees for the coming year were announced by J. H. Lane '28, graduate secretary, as follows: Amazeen, Social Service Committee; G. K. Martin '32, Foreign Students Committee; L. O. Paul '32, Library Committee; N. N. Cochrane '32, Speakers Committee; G. R. Hubbard 3D, Dental School Committee; J. S. Frame 1G, Graduate Schools Committee; M. C. Rose, 3L, Law School Committee; W. F. Hume 2M, Medical School Committee; F. F. Wilder '32, Handbook Committee; W. W. Foshay '31, Information Committee.
