ENGINEERS START INITIAL WORK ON HOUSE UNIT NO. 4

Tests are now being made-of the soil in the plot at the corner of Mill and Plympton Streets in preparation for the building of House Unit No. 4. The consistency of the material must be known in order to prepare for laying the foundation.

The engineers have reported that difficulty is encountered at that location because of the high water level of the Charles River. The soil has been found to be thick clay, however, and the builders feel that no trouble will be caused by a weak base.
