Ground for the new House unit on the corner of Boylston Street and Memorial Drive will be cleared by the middle of May, according to an announcement made yesterday by the University Maintenance Department.

The heating plant should be entirely wrecked in six or seven weeks. Work of destroying the filling station on the triangular piece of ground opposite the Weld Boat House will begin on May 1, when the station operator's contract expires. At present surveyors are laying out the surrounding property with a view to starting at the earliest possible moment the excavation for the sinking of the concrete piles which are to anchor the foundations of the new buildings.
