Members of the Class of 1933 will be given an opportunity to compete for the board of the Freshman Red Book when four fields of work are opened to candidates this evening at a meeting in the McKinlock Hall common room at 7 o'clock.
Details of the competitions for the Editorial, Business, Photographic, and Arts and Cuts Boards will be explained at the meeting which will see the organization of an eight week period of work. The candidates will first gather in the common room in order that they may meet the officers which have already been appointed, and in order that they may be made familiar with the general plans for this year. Following this, they will go to separate rooms in McKinlock according to which board it is for which they wish to compete, and there they will be enlightened as to the specific nature of the work required of them in the particular department.
Competitions Unique
Red Book competitions are unique in that they offer the candidate a chance to secure recognition of his ability in his first year of college, thus paying the way for future positions of a like nature. All Freshmen are urged to come out for one of these boards whether they have had previous experience or not. This is particularly true of the men who may be interested in competing for the Photographic Board.
Under B.K. Bachrach '33 as editor-in-chief, the officers already appointed are as follows: Chairman of the Editorial Board: E.W. Fuller; sub-chairmen: J.M. Bigelow, C.A. Butts, R. McC. Hatch, G.C. St. John Jr., and Albert Pratt.
