CONLEY GLAD THAT BOXING IS MADE INTO A MINOR SPORT

In an interview yesterday L. J. Conley, Crimson boxing coach expressed himself as pleased that the manly art, which has 250 devotees at Harvard, has been voted a minor sport.

"But," he pointed out, "there will always be a distinction made between the men who are merely getting instruction in boxing and those who are candidates for the team. I am anxious not to discourage the men who have no desire for the more severe fighting of knockout encounters."

"Sharkey will beat Scott," predicted Conley. "Without criticizing the erect English style of fighting, I'll point out that in the American crouching position the left shoulder affords more protection, the stomach muscles are tighter, and it is easier to duck a left jab to the head."
