WRESTLERS ENTER SERIES OF ELIMINATION BOUTS

Coach Gallagher Stages Events Lasting for Three Days as Preliminary to Columbia Meet Saturday

All the members of Saturday night's victorious University wrestling team reported in good condition to Coach Clifford Gallagher for brief workouts yesterday, prior to the elimination bouts scheduled for the next three days. The results of these bouts will determine the team which will go to New York to meet Columbia on Saturday.

Eliminations are likewise being held to decide the second University team and the first and second Freshman teams, all of which are engaging in meets on Saturday.

The advantage of the elimination system as used this year by the wrestling teams is that it permits any member of the squad to challenge that wrestler of his own weight who occupies a place on the team. If there is more than one challenger, these aspirants compete among themselves, and the winner then meets the member of the team in the final. Since eliminations take place before each meet, interest is maintained throughout the season among the squad members.
