GIDDENS BACK AS CRIMSON OPPOSES UNIVERSITY CLUB

A reinforced Harvard hockey team with the redoubtable Giddens back-in its lineup will enter the home stretch of the 1930 hockey season tonight when it faces off against the University Club sextet at the Boston Garden at 8.30 o'clock.

Coach Stubbs' men have played through a better than average season and last Saturday captured their first objective game of the year against Dart mouth. All these games were without Giddens, however, but tonight with the diminutive Canadian ace back on the ice the Crimson contingent will get its first opportunity to see whether it actually will be able to play Larry Noble's Yale outfit on a par basis.

Harvard will not be at its full strength, however, because Stubbs, Sophomore wing star, suffered a leg injury in practice yesterday and will be forced to watch the game from the sidelines. Giddens was originally supposed to team up with Wood and Cross to form the second forward trio; but with Stubbs out of the game Giddens will move up to the first line of attack. This may eventually be the wedge by which Giddens will get back on the first trio.

Harvard and the University Club mingled on the ice twice before this year and both times the Crimson came out on the long end by a one point margin. Both previous games have been sparkling hockey exhibitions and tonight's encounter should be little less.

A fourth meeting between the two teams has been carded for Washington's birthday as a warm-up game for Harvard before the first Yale tilt, in New Haven.
