M. Paul Claudel, French ambassador in Washington, has accepted the honorary presidency of the Cercle Francais, it was announced by W. A. C. Miller '32, secretary of the Cercle.
In accepting the honorary presidency Ambassador Claudel wrote in part: "I was particularly touched by this offer and I know too well the services which your circle has rendered for many years past in the diffusion of French thought not to accept the honorary presidency. I beg you, therefore, to express to all the students affiliated with the Cercle Francais of Harvard my pleasure in associating my name with their efforts."
Other distinguished French persons who have been associated with the Cercle in the past are Jules Cambon, Andre Tardieu, and Sarah Bernhardt.
