Conley and Reardon Have Small Squad Out of Which to Make Team

In a statement made yesterday afternoon Joseph Reardon, assistant coach of boxing, while he commented on the promising quality of his Freshman material, complained that he had few candidates among the upperclassmen.

For the first time in the history of Harvard boxing, it is recognised officially as a minor sport, and the University team will take part in intercollegiate competition. Because of this, and because of the excellent facilities of the new gymnasium, Coach Reardon had expected a large number of candidates this fall, whereas he has had less than the ordinary figure.

Feeling that there is a considerable number of men possessing natural ability with the gloves, who are nevertheless hesitant about being "shown up", he is endeavoring to make the daily practice as light and elementary as possible, so that the most inexperienced candidates will have a chance.
