453 SCHOLARSHIPS VOTED TO STUDENTS BY CORPORATION

Scholarships to the number of 453 which totalled $173,100 were voted to undergraduates in Harvard College and the Engineering School by the Corporation, it was announced at University Hall last night. In addition, 92 honorary scholarships without stipend were voted.

Harvard Clubs all over the country accounted for 53 of the scholarships given to Freshmen in the College and for 9 to first-year men in the Engineering School.

Seventeen students in Harvard College, who attained places in Group 1 of the Rank List, were awarded Honorary John Harvard Scholarships, without stipend, for the current year. The same award was made to C. N. Mason '32, of Cohasset, an Engineering School student placed in Group I.

Two students in the Engineering School, who ranked in Group II, were awarded honorary Abbot Lawrence Scholarships, without stipend, for the academic year are J. R. Fetcher '32, of Winnetka, Illinois, J. M. Keller '32, of New York City.

W. W. Foshay '31, of Port Chester, New York, was awarded the Palfry Exhibition for the academic year 1930-31, in recognition of his rank as the Senior with the highest standing, in addition to the Howard Rogers Clapp Scholarship.
