George Warner Gibson '31, of Chestnut Hill, was yesterday appointed chairman of the Senior Class Nominating Committee by J. N. Trainer Jr. '31, retiring president of the Class of 1931.
The five other members of the Nominating Committee are Richard Gardiner Edwards '31, of Swampscott; William Lawrence Breese '31, of Garrison, New York; Eliot Wylie '31, of Quincy; Victor Matthews Harding Jr. '31, of Hubbard Woods, Illinois; and Benjamin Higginson Bassett '31, of Chatham.
The committee will, in the near future, announce a list of nominees for the various Class Day offices. From these nominees the first, second, and third Marshals, as well as the Treasurer, Poet, Orator, Ivy Orator, Odist and Chorister will be elected by the Class of 1931.
The Nominating Committee will also pick a Junior who will be in charge of the Senior Class elections. Counting is to be done by a group of selected Juniors, but the Committee itself must take charge of all petitions. The list of candidates for the various offices may be supplemented after it is announced, if a petition containing the names of 25 eligible voters is presented. Voting will take place in the middle of December.
