HARKNESS GIVES $600.000 FOR SURGERY AT COLUMBIA

A gift of $600.000 from Edward S. Harkness to increase the endowment of the Department of Surgery at Columbia University was announced yesterday by Dr. Nicholas Murray Butler, president of Columbia. Harkness has given a total of $7,100.000 to this University for use in the Department of Medicine.
