SMITH TO GIVE SERIES OF LECTURES ON INVESTMENT

Financial Editor Will Commence His Talks Thursday--Course is to Help Smaller Buyers

Edson Smith, well-known financial editor, will give eight weekly lectures on investments, beginning Thursday in Harvard 1 at 7:30 o'clock, it was announced yesterday.

This series is offered by the University Extension of the State Department of Education under the title "Investing in Stocks and Bonds." The aim of the course is to help the smaller buyers of stocks and bonds, as well as prospective and present stockholders and bondholders, to understand in financial language the fundamental principles of safe and successful investment.

Seven topics of interest are to be considered: Classes of Securities, Forces Affecting, Each Operation of the Stock Exchange, The Money Market, Forecasting Business Conditions, Diversification, The Federal, Reserve System, and Reading the Financial Page.
