BASKETBALL SEASON TO GET UNDER WAY TODAY

Both Freshman and University Squads Hold First Practice Today--Meeting Tonight for University Players

Official practice for both University and Freshman basketball will begin today. The University players will have an official practice at 3 o'clock this afternoon in the New Gymnasium and all candidates and former players will meet at 7.30 o'clock tonight at the Harvard Varsity Club. All Freshmen interested in basketball are to report at 4.30 o'clock in the New Gymnasium.

E. A. Wachter, who will coach both the University and Freshmen this year as usual, recently announced that at the meeting for University men tonight short talks will be given by T. S. Woods '20, former manager of basketball. V. O. Jones '28, W. J. Bingham '16, and Haven Parker '22, P. W. Mahady '30, who played on the University team last year, will be assistant coach for the coming season.

In accordance with the new ruling in regard to minor sports, minor sports H's will be awarded to all men who play in the Yale game. In previous years letters were only awarded provided the team beat Yale or won three-quarters of its games.
