A. E. Phillips '34 was elected president of the Freshman debating council at a meeting held last night in the common room of Gore Hall. D. J. Boorstin '34 was elected vice-president, Malcolm Hoffman '34 became secretary, H. M. Katzin '34 is the treasurer, E. F. Ritger '34 was elected publicity manager, and G. M. Williams '34 and Seymour Peyser '34 became executive committee members.
During the year the council plans to debate with the freshman teams of Yale, Princeton, Brown, and with the Varsity teams of Andover, Exeter, and Worcester Academy. For the remainder of the year, the guidance of activities will be placed in the hands of the executive committee which is composed of the officers and two other members.
