The Crimson soccer team, playing at Providence Saturday afternoon, maintained an undefeated record by winning from Brown, 4 to 1, in its eighth consecutive victory.
W. D. Vogel '31, center forward, scored three of the Crimson's four goals, giving Harvard an early lead by heading the ball into the net about ten minutes after the start of the game. In the second quarter, however, Captain McGinn of the Bruins tied the score on a penalty kick, and the deadlock remained until A. T. T. Schumacher '33 counted on a corner kick near the end of the third period. Before the end of the game, Vogel added two more goals, giving the Crimson an easy margin of victory.
Heads League
Harvard, by virtue of its clear record, is at the head of the Intercollegiate Soccer League, which is composed of 13 regular and nine associate members. Pennsylvania is second, although it was defeated by the Crimson, 6 to 1, a month ago, while Yale, which lost to Penn, 5 to 2, is third. In the event of a Blue victory over Harvard on Saturday, there will be a triple tie for the leadership of this group. Other members of the League include Cornell, Dartmouth, Haverford, Lafayette, Lehigh, Navy, Penn State, Princeton, Swarthmore, and Syracuse.
The summary: Score Harvard 4. Brown 1, Goals--Vogel 3, Schumacher, McGinn. Referee Votaloto. Time four 22-minute periods.
