NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Le Cercle Francais has announced the cast for its fall play, "La Grande Duchesse et le Garcon d'Etage," to be given at the Fine Arts Theatre in Boston, December 11 and 12. The play was written by Alfred Savoir, author of "Bluebeard's Eighth Wife" and is coached by W. B. Cowen '29, professor of French at Milton Academy.

The cast is made up of undergraduates in the College, including two freshmen. The feminine roles are taken by Boston debutantes. The list of players is as follows: Albert, V. E. Blaque '34; Grand Duke Paul, Brinckerhoff Jackson '32: Grand Duke Pierre, W. A. C. Miller III '32; Matard, Charles Fowler '33; Floshe, F. F. Silva '34; The Prince, Gilbert Kerlin '33; Xenia, Kathleen Chase: Countess Avaloff. Beatrice Clough; Henriette, Lorraine Warner; Anna, Camilla Brown.

The staging this year is done by Lewis Perry '32. S. W. Burchard '32 is the director and F. M. Weld '32 the assistant manager.

The plot of "La Grande Duchesse et le Garcon d'Etage," is laid in modern France and centers around an attractive young girl, Xenia, who, with her uncle, the pompous Grand Duke Paul, and her cousin the Grand Duke Pierre, has been exiled by the Russian revolution.

The exiles are supported by the sale of their family jewels. As supplies run low, however, it is then found that some mysterious benefactor is secretly placing large denomination bills in Xenia's purse. The question of the identity of the anonymous philanthropist and the truly Parisian romance that follows bring the play to its final climax.
